Installing APC on Debian/Ubuntu

To install the APC cache on PHP for Debian/Ubuntu, do the following:

dpkg --get-selections

And verify first that the required packages are installed (apache, php).  After that you can then use apt-get to install the package:

apt-get update
apt-get install php-apc

This will install the APC cache.  You can then install the page to give you the stats on the cache using the following:

gzip -dc /usr/share/doc/php-apc/apc.php.gz >/path/to/webserver/apc.php

Where you replace the path with the path to your webserver.
