Apache running but not working

Sorry if this is a newbie kind of problem, but I have been running Apache 1.3 on one of my Windows XP machines for quite some time now with no problems.  I have recently changed ISPs and started using a new ASUS router.  I have also installed Apache 2.2.16 on my new Windows 7 computer and that's where I'd like to run it.  No matter which installation I run, either the Apache 1.3 or the Apache 2.2 I cannot connect to my server.  There are no error messages, just normal startup and shutdown notices.  I have updated the IP address in my Zoneedit account and doing a lookup shows that the domain name is directed to my IP address.  When I try to connect, IE just says that it cannot connect with no error code.  Windows Firewall is disabled, and the router's virtual server is configured to pass port 80.

Anyone have an idea where to begin looking?

Re: Apache running but not working

Well, today I got the Apache software running and I can access the website as long as I am connected to my cable modem directly.  When I go through the router (ASUS RT-N16) I can't connect.  I have set up HTTP at port 80 in the Virtual Server section of the router's setup, but still no go.  Even if I place the computer whereon my site and the Apache software reside in the router's DMZ it is still unaccessible.  Something is wrong, but I can't figure out what it is,

Re: Apache running but not working

Update:

The router IS letting the server be connected to from the internet.  It just won't allow any of the computers connected to the router to connect  to the website.  Is there a fix for this?  Makes it hard to see if the site is working right.
